CBD products have become the hottest selling natural and organic remedies, which promised to be a preventative measure for most of the ailments and sicknesses that have afflicted mankind since the beginning of time.
Cannabidiol is extracted from marijuana plants and is known as CBD oil. It is popularly used in creams and gels in the form of oil or powder. The CBD oil is also used in capsules to take orally. It is directly applied to the skin to get relief from inflammation or pain.
Several studies have found CBD prevents the breakdown of a chemical in the brain that aggravates the pain and is responsible for mental function. Hence, it is capable of reducing pain and anxiety. It helps in reducing psychotic symptoms of epilepsy and schizophrenia.
Researchers have found CBD oil is helpful in cancer treatment, even though more scientific evidence is necessary to prove it is safe and effective.
According to the European Journal of Pain, applying CBD oil to the skin lowers inflammation and pain caused by arthritis. It also inhibits neuropathic and inflammatory pain related to cancer.
Clinical trials found people who took CBD asked for less pain medicine. Meanwhile, the National Cancer Institute in the United States stated that cannabis may alleviate the side effects of cancer treatment.
CBD Oil Legality in India
The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 does not apply to the seeds and leaves of the cannabis plants. This means that if the extraction is done from the seeds or leaves, the CBD is technically legal in India.
Moreover, if a CBD oil product is sold by a manufacturer having a license issued by the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, it is considered legal.
