CBD or cannabidiol was discovered in 1940. It is a Phytocannabinoid and found in cannabis plants, which was once termed an illegal drug. Apart from its oil form, CBD can be used in various ways like inhaling its vapor or smoke and aerosol spray. It is highly effective in providing relief from chronic, arthritis and other severe pains.
CBD oil arthritis pain study, In 2016, a test of the use of CBD oil on rats with arthritis. The cannabis was applied on the rats for four continuous days with 0.6, 3.1, 6.2, or 62.3 mg of dose each day. It was found inflammation was reduced and overall pain in the affected joints was less than before. Moreover, no side effects were found by the researchers.
It was noted that the rats which received low doses didn’t show any improvement in their pain scores. The study was wrapped up that 6.2 mg/day does was able to minimize the pain and swelling in the rats.
It was further studied that no significant difference was found in the outcome of pain relief in rats that received 62.3 mg/day or 6.2 mg/day.
The researchers concluded that the pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects of CFD oil may help people who are suffering from arthritis. More studies are yet to be done and specifically on humans to understand the effects better before prescribing to all age groups.
With the usage of CBD oil products, it needs to be warned that certain side effects like diarrhea, fatigue, changes in weight, and changes in appetite may be noticed in some cases. However, as an organic product; it is a viable alternative to most of the harsher medications that have more critical side effects.
